Micro Steps to Financial Independence
Financial independence can sound and seems so daunting, but doesn't have to be.
I tend to look at things as though they are giant mountains. Something I must overcome, something I must struggle and preserve through. But I can be lazy and the effort required to save money and create a budget can feel impossible.
So I started reading self-help books and there three ideas that help me achieve my life goals are simple.
#1 Micro Tip to Financial Independence
First, if it can be done in 5 minutes, just do it. Don't wait around and procrastinate because it will constantly pop back into your mind. Just check it off the to do list. Just pay that bill. Make the shopping list. Prep an extra portion of dinner for leftovers. Save money with prepped dinners instead of impulse purchases when you are out and about. Save that coin! Anything that can help you get ahead.
#2 Micro Tip to Financial Independence
Second, complete at least 3 things a day. No matter how large or small they are. Pay a bill, take out the trash, read a financial book. Great! You had a productive day. Therefore, you can no longer feel inadequate for having a lazy day. You did 3 things to benefit your future.
#3 Micro Tip to Financial Independence
Third, create automated saving systems. Make your savings and investments automatic. Your debt payments, utilities, and student loans should be automatically withdrawn from your accounts. Paying bills takes up space in your brain. Most importantly, eliminate the mental clutter.
These are just three examples of micro financial habits I have adopted. Do you think these would translate to your life? How can you add micro money saving habits to your life?
